Meeting Overview
- Third club meeting focused on planning projects and organizing content creation
- Currently have 18 members listed in the Notion workspace
- Primary focus will be on developing the website first, then expanding to podcast/YouTube content
Website Development
- Current website (webd2.club) runs on WordPress
- Planning to focus on website development as the main project for the next 8 weeks
- Will need to conduct WordPress training for members who haven’t used it
- Each member will have publishing rights to create content and drafts
- Considering developing a custom theme for the site
Content Creation Plans
- Blog posts
- Members can write articles on IT and technology topics
- Content will follow a process: idea submission → review → publication
- Posts can be written in Notion first, then transferred to WordPress
- Podcast/YouTube channel
- Will set up foundations but not immediately start recording
- Planning to eventually create both audio podcasts and video content
- Live streaming on YouTube was mentioned as a possibility
- Some members volunteered to appear on camera
Tools and Organization
- Using Notion for project management and content organization
- Created separate boards for blog post and podcast ideas
- Each board has columns for ideas, in progress, review, and published items
- WordPress is the current website platform
- Outputs HTML and CSS, runs on PHP in the background
- Changing themes is easy through the dashboard
Next Steps
- Meet again on Wednesday the 29th at 4-5pm
- Continue adding content ideas to the Notion boards
- Look into APIs for connecting Notion with their website
- Create onboarding materials for new members unfamiliar with web coding
- Open to bringing in new members regardless of experience level
